Nebraska Football: Huskers Get Transfer Commitment from ACC Wide Receiver

NCAA Football: Georgia Tech at Wake Forest Jim Dedmon-USA TODAY Sports

Well does he play o-line? In this case, no he does not. But he did catch a lot of passes for touchdowns for the Wake Forest Demon Deacons.

On Thursday morning it was Jahmal Banks who announced that he plans on transferring from Wake Forest to Nebraska. He is taking his talents to Lincoln.

In this case Nebraska will be getting a tall big bodied receiver which is something that the wide receiver room needs. Before this commitment the room had tons of speed but not a lot of size.

Banks was also extremely productive at Wake Forest. During his sophomore year (2022) he had 42 receptions for 636 yards and nine touchdowns. He had the highest contested rate completion percentage (58.6%) in the entire ACC conference.

He was Honorable Mention All-Conference in 2022. His 2023 season was about the same in terms of production as he had 59 receptions for 653 yards and four touchdowns.

Description of Jahmal Bank’s 2023 season from Wake Forest:

Saw action in every game and started in 10 during the 2023 season for the Demon Deacons… Finished the season with 59 receptions for 653 yards while averaging 11.07 yards-per-reception with four receiving touchdowns… Had one carry for seven yards… Led the team in receiving yards (653), receptions-per-game (4.92) and was tied for first in receiving touchdowns (4)... Finished fifth in the ACC in receptions-per-game… Recorded a receiving touchdown in three-straight games… Recorded six receptions for a season-high 108 yards while averaging 18.00 yards-per-reception with one receiving touchdown in the win against Elon… Recorded eight receptions for 81 yards while averaging 10.12 yards-per-reception with one receiving touchdown in the win against Old Dominion… Recorded seven receptions for 90 yards while averaging 12.86 yards-per-reception with one receiving touchdown.
