#1 Husker Volleyball Sweeps Michigan in Their Finale at the Bob

Nebraska 3, Michigan 0 - 25-15, 25-12, 25-20

Along with Nebraska’s win, tonight an electric match happened before the Huskers tipped off which helps them in their hunt for the B1G Title: Wisconsin lost again. This time to Purdue.

Nebraska now has at least a guaranteed share of the B1G Title this season. To be honest, I really hope Nebraska doesn’t have to share it with anyone and most definitely not Wisconsin. The Huskers deserve a solo title win this season.

The Huskers had no problem getting going this time around against the Wolverines. They never lost their momentum and never played down to Michigan’s level tonight. This is something that was a problem against Northwestern and Illinois.

We never really saw the Huskers struggle tonight either. The only time Michigan came close was in the third set when they had the lead early on.

Andi Jackson is someone who is always low on errors and always someone who the Huskers can rely on to hit and to block. Tonight, Jackson had 9 kills and 1 error on 11 attempts. She ended the match hitting .727 which is very impressive.

Bekka Allick had an error free night on the hitting side of things. She had 7 kills and no errors on 10 attempts. She ended the night hitting .700. She was only second to Andi Jackson in the hitting percentage sector.

Harper Murray also had 9 kills and hit .273 on the night. She out hit her sister, Kendall Murray, and wins the sibling competition if there was one.

Kendall only had 4 kills and was hit -.103. This is definitely not normal for the usual top hitter for the Wolverines.

We saw another quiet night for Merritt Beason. She only recorded 7 kills and hit .227. She did help on defense a lot though with 9 digs and 2 total blocks. We don’t always need a big night from her, but her leadership helps other girls shine on her more silent nights.

Nebraska ended the night hitting .368 as a team, which is pretty damn good. Michigan did not do so hot. They ended the match hitting .047. Just looking at the difference between these numbers, you can tell who won this match.

Nebraska doesn’t play for about a week now so they have time to prepare for the final push which is three road matches.

Road matches have been a struggle this year. Penn State and Purdue are two very good examples of this. Both of these went to 5 sets, but Nebraska ended up on top. They just gave us a little heart attack.

Nebraska will take on Iowa on Sunday, November 19th. Nebraska will then play two matches back to back. The first one against Wisconsin, then the second one against Minnesota.

The end of the season will be exciting and Nebraska fans will be watching closely to see if they can get that second win against Wisconsin and if they can finish undefeated going into the post season.
