Nebraska vs Fordham - one would expect an ass-kicking.

Our beloved Huskers start with the ball.

First play, the dreaded sideways pass. Samori Toure gains two yards. Next play, fumble, loss of eight yards. Third play, Martinez scrambles for a first down on 3rd and 18.

By the time Nebraska punts, Martinez has overthrown a wide open Toure who doesn’t bother to try for the ball, then overthrows Wyatt Liewer who might have had a touchdown.

Yay.

Nebraska punts and Fordham, who, unlike our beloved appears like they’re happy to be in Lincoln.

They gain yardage until JoJo Domann picks off the ball.

Nebraska 7 - Fordham 0

Nebraska makes Fordham PAY. They drive the field in a drive that features fewer mistakes and results in a touchdown.

Scott Frost goes for it on fourth and two, the ballsy call of the century! Adrian Martinez fakes a snap to some running back, then jukes a defender on his way to the end zone!

Fordham 7 - Nebraska 7

Fordham forces a three and out. They start their drive at their own 25 yard line. Seven plays later, Fordham quarterback DeMorat found Kokosioulis, who takes it 31 yards past Nebraska defenders and into the end zone for the tying touch down.

Nebraska 10 - Fordham 7

Nebraska has a couple big plays, a Toure rush on an option for 21 yards, a Manning reception for 32 yards, but then the drive stalls as Nebraska can’t run the ball on three consecutive downs.

Connor Culp hits a 39-yard field goal, so there’s that.

Nebraska 17 - Fordham 7

Nebraska has a nice drive consisted of mostly runs, although the biggest play of the drive is a 31-yard reception by Toure.

Adrian Martinez carries it in for a 4-yard TD.

Look what I did!

Shortly after I tweeted this, Deontai Williams intercepted a DeMorat pass to start Nebraska’s drive on the 17 yard line. Our beloved Huskers execute a fairly clean drive, a combination of Martinez on-target passing and decent running.

Half Time

It’s a lackluster game so far against an inferior opponent.

On the other hand, Nebraska has zero turnovers, over 300 yards of offense and just one penalty. On top of that, special teams have been pretty special.
