Nebraska is set to get their first win of the 2021 season this weekend against Fordham.
This should be a game in which we will get to see our 2nd and 3rd string players and should be an overall fun game to watch.
Here are your five reasons why:
#1 THE LINEBACKERS
While we, as fans, may have been disappointed with a lot of things that we saw last weekend, the play of the linebackers shouldn’t be one of those things. Pheldarius Payne had two sacks resulting in -11 yards, Nick Henrich had a team high 11 tackles, and Garrett Nelson added another .5 sacks and 6 tackles. Last year the Blackshirts only had 13 sacks for the whole season. These linebackers have already accounted for almost 1⁄4 of those in one game.
Expect to see more plays like this on Saturday:

#2 DEFENSIVE LINE
Speaking of the defense, the defensive line did a nice job last week against Illinois. Facing Fordham they are going to have their way with offensive line. Expect to see some big plays from the d-line.
#3 IT’S BEEN A WEEK
Nebraska has had a week to move on from the silly mistakes that they made last week. We’re going to go ahead and chalk those mistakes up to first game jitters. We will see a team that has put the past behind them and is ready for the rest of the season.
#4 SPECIAL TEAMS WILL BE BETTER
I mean, they can’t get worse... can they?
#5 THE OFFENSE WILL SHOW OFF
We are going to see what the Nebraska offense can really do on Saturday. We got a glimpse of a couple things to start the Illinois game, but against Fordham we are going to see some big plays. We’ve been waiting all off season to see what the receiver group is capable of and that is what we will see on Saturday.
Saturday is coming and so is the first Husker win.
