Huskers in the NFL - Week 3

New, 1 comment

It was a quiet week for most of the former Nebraska football players, although one played a role in an NFL record

Brian is out this week, so we have a somewhat abbreviated Huskers in the NFL.

Here’s how our beloved Huskers faired in the NFL this week.

Maliek Collins, Houston

Had one tackle for loss and three total tackles for the Texans. Ended up being graded out as one of the best players on the Texans in week 3.

Sam Koch, Baltimore

Wouldn’t Nebraska fans love to have a punter like Sam Koch back on the roster? This week he had a punt of 54 yards. On three punts, he averaged 45.7 yards per punt and two landed inside the 20 yard line.

Lavonte David, Tampa Bay. Lavonte reeled in six unassisted tackles against the Rams. David has played every single defensive snap so far in 2021 for the Bucs.

Ndamukong Suh, Tampa Bay. Suh posted two tackles (one assisted) in a loss to the Rams. He played 52% of the defensive snaps in Week 3.

Ameer Abdullah, Minnesota - Averaged 4.8 yards per carry on five carries for 24 yards. He was released from the Vikings on the 21st. Then he was signed by the Vikings four days later. Does this say something about Vikings management?

Luke Gifford, Dallas, registered two solo tackles as the Cowboys smacked the Eagles around 41-21 on Monday Night Football.

Rex Burkhead, Houston, had one carry for 5 yards in a 24-9 loss to the Carolina Panthers.

Randy Gregory, Dallas Cowboys - While he didn’t record any tackles or sacks he is creating havoc. Many of the Cowboys fans though he was being held on almost every play.

Andy Janovich, Cleveland. Nebraska’s favorite son was only in on two offensive snaps and he didn’t register any stats.

Matt Farniok, Dallas did not play any offensive snaps (that we could find).

Jack Stoll, Philadelphia. Did not register any stats.

Cethan Carter, Miami Dolphins. Did not register any stats.

Stanley Morgan, Cincinatti Bengals. Did not register any stats.
