The Cobs Are Back!

Beware of your FCS Opponents!

Sorry for no cobs last week. My hard drive was fried and it took longer to fix than I expected. I’ll make up for it by including cob nomination from the last two weeks of college football.

LET’S GO!

Florida State

Nothing like paying an FCS school $400,000 only to lose to them on a Hail Mary. Is this the worst loss in Seminole history?

Texas

Texas went to Fayetteville and got Hogtied by the Razorbacks. The college football world rejoiced.

Colorado State

After losing to South Dakota State the week before, Colorado State appeared to bounce back by jumping out to a 14-0 lead against the mighty Vanderbilt. However, things completely felt apart for the Rams and the Commodores came back to pull of a 24-21 win! Colorado State is now 1-8 in their last nine games....ouch! Vanderbilt will be looking for a second non-conference win this season against UConn.

USC

The Trojans came into the game as -17.5 point favorites against the Cardinal and the USC faithful were hopeful about a good season. The complete opposite happened. The USC kicker got ejected on the first play of the game for targeting and things went downhill from there. Stanford completely blew them out of the water on their way to a 42-28 win. The game wasn’t really that close since the Trojans tacked on two touchdowns in garbage time. In the end, Clay Helton is out as head coach. Who will take over for USC next season?
