BOOM!!!!!! CHICAGO OFFENSIVE LINEMAN VALEN ERICKSON IS N!!!!!!

Huskers land massive, versatile lineman from the Windy City.

Great news from the land of Italian beef & deep-dish pizza!

The Huskers landed the commitment of 3* offensive lineman Valen Erickson Friday evening. Valen stands 6'6 & weighs in at 305 pounds, and he plays his prep ball for St. Rita High in Chicago.

In Valen's film, there is a lot to like about the young man. He possesses good footwork, impressive strength, solid fundamentals & an aggressive tenacity while playing the game. Similar to former Husker & current Dallas Cowboy Matt Farniok, Valen can play all 5 positions on the offensive line but his best position may be guard, which is where he'll be slotted once he arrives on campus.

Nebraska was the only school Valen visited, but his other finalists at the time of his commitment were Missouri & Cincinnati, and he had also begun hearing from Ohio State & Oklahoma. Credit to Coach Austin for reeling this big fella in.

After Valen's commitment, the Husker recruiting class sits at 57th in the country according to Rivals, while 247 Sports has the Husker class ranked 12th in the Big Ten & 59th in the country.

Welcome to Nebraska, Valen! GBR!
