Frosted Flakes: Zip Lining and Baseball

Today is the last day of the MLB draft. So far Spencer Schwellenbach has gone to the Braves, and Cade Povich has gone to the Twins.

I don’t know much about what this means for next year’s Huskers other than they’ll be without these players, so I’m going to leave it at that.

Instead, I’m going to tell you about the zip lining that my family did at TreeRush Adventures at Fontenelle Forest. They have a zip line course for kids ages 4-6 and then one for people 7+. Since we have a 5 year old and a 7 year old, my husband and I had to split up and have one of us on the ground with the little one and the other one went with our older son.

Although I would’ve loved to go zip lining, I told my husband that I would stay with our younger son and that he could go on the course.

You get about 2 hours on the courses. After about 45 minutes, my youngest was done with the courses for his age and kept begging me to let him go on the ones his brother was on. So I spent the next hour and 15 minutes trying to convince him that what he was going on was so cool and telling him that he’d have to wait two more years for those big courses.

While this was happening, I was watching my older son and my husband on the other courses. I was very impressed about how well my 7 year old was doing. I thought he would be scared, but he was going right through the course hooking and unhooking his carabiners like a pro.

Then, I looked at my husband and he mouthed to me, “I hate this.” I couldn’t stop laughing. As it turns out, the older he his getting, the more heights bother him. I guess I wasn’t doing him much of a favor by letting him be the one in the air. They continued to do two more courses and it looked really fun. I would definitely go back and actually try the courses next time.

Now, onto your flakes.
