BONK!!!!! Hahaha!
BONK! Did I do it right? Hahaha! Who cares!
YES! IT’S TRUE! The Heavens have opened up as the Huskers get a commit for the most revered position in the state!
The almighty… RUNNING BACK!
Confirmed with Nevada RB Ashton Hayes that he has committed to Nebraska. #Huskers have their first running back in the 2022 class.

Sorry, Tyler. I know how much you wanted to cover the commitment of a stud, but it looks like my debut is going to be a lot cooler than yours. MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Nebraska has gotten the verbal pledge of their first running back for 2022 in Ashton Hayes after he visited Lincoln this past weekend. The recruit from McQueen High School is listed as 5’ 11” and weighs 180 lbs. 247sports Composite has him as the 39th ranked RB of the 2021 class with a good 40-yard-dash speed of 4.48 seconds. You love to see it. According to both 247 and Rivals, he is now the highest ranked member in Nebraska’s group of five commits.
His 2019 sophomore season was superb as the leading rusher in the state of Nevada. He was awarded with the Northern 4A offensive player of the year after rushing for over 2,400 yards and averaging 8.9 yards per carry.
The RB room is young and unproven, but looks very promising heading into the 2021 season. A handful of them looked really good in the spring game, but there is only limited experience in a season of play.
Will any of them rise above the pack and become a star this coming season? Hopefully. If not, then maybe Hayes can step up when he gets on campus in 2022.
Hayes also held offers from a few PAC-12 schools in Stanford, Utah, Oregon State, and Cal. He visited the Bears a week before his visit with Frost and the boys, and he assuredly liked us more.
He wanted to commit immediately, but Frost told him to wait a few days.
Ashton Hayes told the #Huskers staff on his OV that he wanted to commit. HC Scott Frost told him they'd talk in a few days.

"Coach Held and Coach Tuioti called me (today) and they said, 'Are you ready to get this thing done?' I said, 'Just mail me the papers. I'm ready to go.'"
