Yant redshirted the 2020 season after walking on at Nebraska. He was rated a three star recruit, but there were some questions about academic qualification,
In a spring season where some backs were sidelined with injuries, Yant grabbed hold of his opportunity to get reps and proved to be an exciting addition to the offense during the spring game. Yant is the sixth scholarship running back; the others are Rahmir Johnson, Markese Stepp, Sevion Morrison, Marvin Scott and Gabe Ervin. A scholly opened up after [running back] Ronald Thompkins entered the transfer portal.
This position group remains one long on possiblity but short on experience for the Huskers. With his size, 6’2” and 225 lbs, look for Jaq to first carve out a role as a short yardage hammer.
Congratulations to Nebraska’s newest scholarship player!
