Fred Hoiberg, he loses a player one day and picks up a replacement another. It was just three days ago when Shaimel Stevenson decided he his journey with Nebraska was over and Fred picks up a player to fill that scholarship.

Quaran McPhearson is a 6’4” guard from Woodstock Academy in Connecticut. He has been offered by St. John’s, Providence, and Iona but has decided to take his talents out west to Lincoln and play for the Big Red.

He is familiar with the Cornhusker staff as Matt Abdelmassih had recruited him from his days as an assistant at St. John’s. Just before he left to join Hoiberg’s staff at Nebraska. Showing that it plays to keep those connections out east.

This will leave Nebraska with just one open scholarship spot left for the upcoming season. Hopefully they will be able to take advantage of the transfer market or find another player out of high school who is still looking for a home.
