Heyoooo. Todd leads the Five Heart podcast this week. I join him.
We talk for a bit about the anniversary of George Floyd’s murder and what changes it may bring. If you think we should stick to sports, sorry, not sorry.
Todd reveals that an athlete he coached was inducted into the Iowa Hall of Fame recently. That is pretty cool.
Todd and I discuss:
- Nebraska baseball winning the Big Ten conference after being picked eighth. Why were they picked eighth? How far can they go in the NCAA? Will they beat Michigan?
- The tweet below has since been deleted. Here’s a partial screenshot. The tweet is regarding that Kevin Warren thought the letter last year to the Big Ten from Ohio State parents about canceling football season was made up.
This leads us to a discussion as to whether or not Warren should keep his job. Are we being fair to him? Wasn’t it hard to lead during this pandemic?
Jon has a book out!
On August 21st, 2015, Jon unexpectedly dropped dead of a widowmaker heart attack. He was shocked five times on the way to the hospital with no response. He was shocked two more times in the ER. He was dead for over 20 minutes. A stent was placed, and he was induced into a coma. In January 2016 Jon received a second stent and in June he was diagnosed with an anoxic brain injury.
He wrote a book about death and recovery. The title, “Been Dead, Never Been To Europe” reflects the ironic nature of life, what happens versus what we want to happen. It’s available at Amazon in Kindle and Paperback.
Consider signing up for Jon’s Postlife Crisis newsletter, which is about Jon and interests beyond Cornhuskers sports. (I know, right?)
