The 2021 NFL Draft is in the books and just because Dedrick Mills, Dicaprio Bootle and Jack Stoll were not drafted, it doesn’t mean their NFL dreams are over. Sure it would be great to hear your name called. But as an undrafted free agent the players have a bit more control over where they end up going. Here is a look at where each of the Huskers players have landed.
Dicaprio Bootle, Kansas City Chiefs

Kansas City loves versatile defensive backs as they currently have one of the best in Tyrann Mathieu along with Juan Thornhill. Bootle’s speed and toughness will give him a great chance to make it on special teams while he learns from Mathieu and can carve out a role either as a slot corner or even back at free safety where the Chiefs are still unsettled.
Dedrick Mills, Detroit Lions

If Dedrick Mills wants to make it on the Detroit Lions, then he is going to have his work cut out for him as the Lions have three established veterans on their roster. D’Andre Swift was drafted in the second round last year while Jamaal Williams was brought in as a free agent and Kerryon Johnson is also a recent second round pick. The hope for Mills is his tough running style will win over the coaches and they’ll part with Johnson who was drafted by the previous regime.
Jack Stoll, Philadelphia Eagles

On the surface Jack Stoll is a tough spot as the Eagles have one of the best tight end duos in Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert. But Ertz has been rumored to be traded as soon as the draft is over, which leaves a wide open spot on the roster. But keep an eye on Stoll making a transition to fullback where he may be suited. Stoll is much better blocking on the move and his 40 time could have opened up some eyes to the shift.
