National Voting Results

This week asked voters who they think will win the national titles for men’s and women’s basketball. Gonzaga is far and away the favorite for the men. Like, the vote is so lopsided it almost makes the election look like a banana republic in the vote totals.

The exact results in full were:

  1. Gonzaga: 76%
  2. Baylor: 14%
  3. UCLA: 7%
  4. Houston: 3%

By an overwhelming majority, voters were dead wrong in picking the women’s champion. UConn had the majority of voters’ picks, but they were wrong on the second best vote getter as well. Stanford and Arizona pulled off stunning upsets last night to advance to the title game to face off against one another.

The exact results in full were:

  1. UConn: 55%
  2. South Carolina: 22%
  3. Stanford: 20%
  4. Arizona: 3%

Now something Husker fans are familiar with is the debate over who the best team of all-time is in football. The final question this week asked fans who they think is the better college hoops team: 2021 Gonzaga or 2015 Kentucky. The 2015 Kentucky team fell in the Final Four in an upset loss to Wisconsin after going undefeated to that point, but remains the highest rated team in the KenPom era of advanced metrics.

Well, fans think this 2021 Gonzaga team is better and not by a remotely narrow margin.
