It’s a beautiful Monday, made more wonderful by the news that Nebraska baseball is ranked!

Nebraska moved into the rankings as our beloved Huskers won their seventh series in a row over Michigan State this past weekend. Nebraska has never won seven series in a row, but that must be taken with a grain of salt as there is no non-conference season this year.

Nebraska’s rank has been granted partially because Michigan lost their series with Rutgers, and partially because our beloved Huskers have played consistently throughout the season.

Nebraska’s ranking:

D1Baseball - 22nd

Baseball America - 24th

Perfect Game - 19th - Note that Indiana is ranked right behind us at #20.

USA Today/Coaches - 24th - NU is the biggest climber of the week, up 15 spots when the “others receiving votes” are added in.

NCBWA - 29th - 1 spot behind Michigan, who fell from 22 to 28

Collegiate Baseball - 21st - up from #28 last week and 1 spot ahead of Michigan

Standings

Our beloved Huskers remain in first place in the Big Ten standings with a 20-7 record.

Keep in mind - Nebraska hasn’t played the best of the Big Ten yet. May will bring series against Rutgers (who isn’t terrible), Northwestern (who bashes the ball well), Indiana (in 2nd place), Ohio State (the Buckeyes should never be taken lightly whatever their record), and Michigan (tied for 2nd place).

That last series with Michigan will be huge!
