BOOM!!! Florida WR Victor Jones Jr. is N!

Huskers snag uber-talented wideout from Orlando.

Great news from the land of Walt Disney World, tourist traps, big chain restaurants, the most deadly highway in the country, and Florida Man!

The Huskers landed the commitment of three-star Florida wideout Victor Jones Jr. Thursday evening. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound receiver plays his prep ball at Olympia High in Orlando. That is also the alma mater of former All-Pro RB and former fastest man in the NFL Chris Johnson. Jones lines up at wide receiver for the team, as well as returning punts and kicks.

Upon watching his film, I can't help but notice his speed! He is busting off explosive plays in every way on the field, jet sweeps, post routes, screen passes, the whole nine. He also runs a personal best of 10.94 in the 100 meter dash and runs a reported 4.3 second 40, which lends credence to the speed on film. He recorded 36 catches, 663 yards, and 10 TDs in 2020, which proves he can get vertical in a hurry. He reminds me a lot of former Iowa Hawkeye WR Ihmir Smith-Marsette, who bust off explosive plays in a multitude of ways for our rivals to the east.

Victor is rated an 85 three-star sccording to 247Sports, while Rivals has him rated a 5.5 star. Due to the lack of camps caused by the outbreak of coronavirus, a lot of kids are not being correctly evaluated. If coaches and scouts were able to see him in person, he would have been rated much, much higher.

The Huskers beat out Cincinnati, UCF, West Virginia, and Arkansas for Victor's services, and he fills a need for a speedy and vertical threat in our offense. With his commitment, the Huskers now have the 55th best recruiting class in the country according to Rivals, while 247 has Nebraska recruiting class ranked as the 56th best class in America and 10th in the Big Ten. These rankings are 1,000,000% guaranteed to move up as the recruiting cycle moves forward.

Welcome to Nebraska, Victor! GBR!
