I’ll start by saying this: this week’s Cobcast is a fun one. There’s nothing specific about it. I just enjoyed it.
Now this: It’s not related to the Cobcast, but I know how much Andy Hoffman meant to Husker fans, and yesterday was a real bummer. I never met the guy (though Tweedy did while making Through These Gates; and he seemed to really like him), but that doesn’t limit the emotional impact of hearing the news of his passing yesterday. His work obviously went way beyond any one-to-one conversations two people could ever have anyway.
I don’t know why I’m eulogizing a guy I’d never met on an article meant to promote an oftentimes irreverent podcast, but I think that says something about his impact. It’s something I think we can all strive for.
There’s no good way to transition out of that lane and promote the Cobcast, but please do. There’s nothing about Andy Hoffman in this week’s episode because we record on Sundays. His passing was just on my mind. Now with that, listen to the latest Big Red Cobcast, which you can do by clicking the button below!
