Big Red Cobcast Ep. 351: Relegation for the Huskers?

Joe and Pat examine where Nebraska would currently stand under a relegation model used by European soccer leagues.

I know we’re supposed to talk about American football on this ol’ Big Red Cobcast, and I promise we do. I also know that the “other” football (aka soccer) is not what most of our listeners want to hear about.

But there’s one problem with that: Joe just won’t shut up about soccer.

Here’s the thing though. I don’t really think that’s a problem this week. We compared American sports structure to the soccer sports structure, and we’re fairly confident that while Nebraska would’ve been relegated from the Big Ten at some point using a European soccer model, the Huskers also would’ve been promoted from the Sun Belt or the WAC or whichever crappy conference we would’ve fallen into under a relegation model.

Does that make sense? If not, you should probably just listen to the Cobcast. You can do that by clicking the button below!

And once you’re done listening to this week’s episode, you’re going to need some more content to fill the offseason void. You can do that by catching up on all 350 of our past episodes here.
