Another Sunday of the NFL season has passed and it was very kind to our former Huskers. Week 8 saw the return of Lavonte David from injury, Jack Stoll getting his first NFL catch while Rex Burkhead returned to form. How did each former Husker do this week? Who was the top Husker performer, I’ve got you covered here.
Husker of the Week
Ndamukong Suh, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

In their division match up against New Orleans, Suh made his presence felt finishing with four tackles, one tackle for loss, a sack and two quarterback hurries. The Saints may have gotten the win, but it wasn’t because of a lack of production from Suh.
Good Game
Rex Burkhead, Houston Texans

With the Texans trading Mark Ingram back to the Saints that opened up an opportunity for Burkhead to get more touches. And with that we got to see the Burkhead that had success in New England. Burkhead led the Texans with 9 touches that included four runs for 21 yards and a touchdown, three catches for 27 yard and even had a pass attempt.
Randy Gregory, Dallas Cowboys

The Randy Gregory show continued Sunday Night as he wrecked the Vikings backfield to the tune of one strip sack and three quarterback hurries. Gregory also got flagged for three unnecessary roughness penalties that were all very ticky tack.
Jack Stoll, Philadelphia Eagles

A benefit of the Eagles blowing out the Lions is that it meant more playing time for Stoll who saw 42% of the Eagles offensive plays. Sunday was also significant for Stoll as he logged his first career catch on a screen that went for nine yards.
Ameer Abdullah, Carolina Panthers

In his second game with the Panthers, Ameer was used as their backup running back and their main pass catcher from the position. Abdullah thrived in this role rushing for 31 yards and adding another 35 yards receiving. The highlight of Abdullah’s game came on a 17 yard screen pass.
Solid Game
Lavonte David, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Back to that 4th down stop..#GoBucs Vita Vea BLEW that play up (& was held as usual)… rinse, wash, repeat w/ the big man creating chaos

Lavonte David at the end too, plugging it pic.twitter.com/66CI5uWHJy
In his first game back from injury, David was back to his usual role playing every single snap on defense and making tackles. David finished with 8 total tackles including a key one on fourth down. However David did struggle to shed a 4th quarter block along the goal line that ended up giving the Saints the go ahead score.
Maliek Collins, Houston Texans

After a couple of strong outings the past few games, Collins continued his positive momentum this past Sunday. Collins only finished with two tackles, but one of them was a nice swim move to get into the backfield and stop Darrell Henderson for a two yard loss. Now the Texans still lost and gave up over 150 yards rushing, but we are starting to see the Collins that played well for the Cowboys.
Limited Snaps
Stanley Morgan, Cincinnati Bengals
In addition to normal duties on coverage units Morgan got seven total offensive snaps which was a season high. Cincinnati may have only ran the ball when Morgan was on the field but they obviously trust him as a blocker.
Cethan Carter, Miami Dolphins
Carter played only on special teams in the Dolphins game against the Bills. Carter did finish the game with one special teams tackle on a kickoff return.
Luke Gifford, Dallas Cowboys
Gifford played only on special teams in the Cowboys Sunday night game against the Vikings but was unable to make any tackles.
Inactive or Did Not Play
Brenden Jaimes, Los Angeles Chargers
Matt Farniok, Dallas Cowboys
Waived
Khalil Davis, Indianapolis Colts

On Saturday the Colts activated two players off of injury lists which meant they needed to release a couple of players and one of them ended up being Davis. Already cut once this season, we’ll see where Davis ends up. One team could be Tampa where they didn’t want to have to cut him in the first place.
Devine Ozigbo, New Orleans Saints
After the Saints traded for Mark Ingram that meant that Ozigbo was expendable and was later released. We’ll see if Devine can catch on with another team for the rest of the season.
