Nebraska Volleyball Fights but Loses to Minnesota in Five Sets

Lexi Sun returned to the line up and played well

Scott Bruhn

Nebraska 2 vs Minnesota 3- 22-25, 30-28, 21-25, 25-23, 9-15

Plain and simple, there were too many errors both in serving and hitting for Nebraska to win at Minnesota. It wasn’t all bad news, of course. I did like was the fight Nebraska showed in set two, three and four. There was a push that had previously not been there on this team. They showed grit.

Sun’s return in force was definitely a bright spot in the offense. Yes, she also made too many hitting errors but she also made kills, in contrast to Kubik, who had a pretty low performance. She wasn’t able to produce kills like she has in the last few matches. She also made 7 hitting errors. Minnesota served to her 58 times and wore her down.

Many of the role playing that had previously been very dependable Nebraska players were missing this evening. Akana missed 2 serves and had 3 reception errors. Evans missed 2 serves and Kubik we already covered.

Nebraska heads to Illinois on Thursday, November 4th, with first serve scheduled for 8 pm at Huff Hall in Champaign, Ill. The match will be televised on BTN and streamed via its digital extension on the FOX Sports app. John Baylor and Lauren Cook West will also have the radio call on Huskers Radio Network.
