Is everyone ready for some Nebrasketball?

The season is still a month away but practice has started and a lot is going on in the next couple of days to kick things off for the upcoming season.

It will be a big weekend for Nebraska basketball after it finishes it’s first week of practice for the 2021-22 basketball season. In addition to the homecoming festivities that will encompass the campus this Saturday, Fred and his staff will also be hosting a bevy of recruits from the 2022 and 2023 classes.

The Huskers will start the weekend off on Friday night with a a scrimmage at Pinnacle Bank Arena that will be followed by a concert by rapper G Herbo. An event that is open to the students and public that should be well attended. The Huskers have had big opening weekends before but not with the amount of high level recruits that will be coming to town.

The Husker women will start of Friday night with their scrimmage at 7:45pm which will be followed by the men’s scrimmage at 8:25pm. G Herbo will perform at 9:30pm to close the night.

As for the recruits, the following players will be in attendance for the event. Two of the recruits, Denim Dawson and Jamarques Lawrence are from the 2022 class. Four of the players are from the 2023 class; Omaha Biliew, Simon Wilcher, Trey Green, and Chase Clemmons.

Omaha Biliew

Simon Wilcher

Trey Green

Jamarques Lawrence

Denim Dawson

Chase Clemmons

These are some of the most highly ranked players that Nebraska basketball has had on campus in a long time, if ever. It should be a good event for the staff to show off the facilities, fans, and the general Husker experience. It would be a big win for Fred if he could pull just two or three of these players into his recruiting classes.
