This week of cobs isn’t the most exciting but at least it gave us this gem. I think they should just start dipping in a big vat of rubbing alcohol.

Now let’s dive into these week’s cob nominations.
Tulane
Tulane was smashing Navy at halftime with a big 24-0 lead but then the Midshipmen readies their battleships and aircraft carriers and pulled off an incredible comeback over the Green Wave.

Appalachian State
The Mountaineers did a few good things on Saturday.

However, one big mistake played a big part in their upset loss to the Thundering Herd of Marshall.
Every CFB coach in the country is going to show this to their defense next week. (Heck of a play design by App State too). pic.twitter.com/yyExdOO2w1

Marshall’s last win over a ranked team appears to be Sept. 20, 2003 at K-State. Last time they beat a ranked team at home? Byron Leftwich beat then-No. 2 in I-AA Appalachian State on Aug. 31, 2002.

North Texas
Committing 13 penalties, giving up 65 points and over 700 yards on defense will pretty much guarantee you on a loss no matter who you are playing. The Mean Green fans must be enraged.
Ulysses Bentley can't stop, won't stop scoring.

This defensive effort on 4th down might be enough on its own to nominate North Texas for a cob.

The cob nominations were slim because there were only 20 FBS games last weekend. The SEC returns this weekend so hopefully more games will lead to a more interesting selection of cobs next week.
