Big Red Cobcast Ep. 326: Mitch Sherman

After two weeks of inviting guests with occasionally contentious relationships with Husker fans, we decided to get back to some good ol’ feel-good Husker talk on the Big Red Cobcast. And there’s no better person for that than Mitch Sherman from The Athletic.

Mitch has covered the Huskers in every capacity possible, starting in the early 90s as a student reporter for the Daily Nebraskan, working his way up to the Omaha World Herald to ESPN to his current position at The Athletic. It’d be an understatement to say Mitch has seen some stuff.

So naturally we wanted Mitch to tell us all about that stuff, and he did just that. Plus, as a national writer still living in Nebraska, he was able to give us an interesting perspective on the recent narrative surrounding Nebraska. Basically, Joe and are probably best friends with Mitch now. I think that’s how this all works.

So, give it a listen and let us know what you think in the coments!

And of course with (possibly) no Husker football this fall, you’re going to need some content to fill the (possible) void. You can do that by catching up on all 326 of our past episodes here. And here’s a handy dandy list (with links) to all of the post-Covid interviews we’ve done during while being apart from one another:
