After weeks and probably months of speculation we now have an idea of when Thorir Thorbjarnarson and Yvan Ouedraogo will be returning to Lincoln and join the team in summer workouts per Chris Heady of the Omaha World Herald.

Coach Fred Hoiberg stated on Monday that they hope to have the two international players back on American soil sometime next week. Thorir currently at his home in Iceland and Yvan in France. Monday was the first day that coaches were able to be with the players under NCAA rules. Another week for Yvan and Thorir should not be much of a problem if all goes according to plan.

Both players were key to the Huskers last season and their experience and leadership will be needed this upcoming season. Yvan has lost about 25 pounds this off which should make him a more agile threat in the paint. Thorir, the one player last season with experience from the previous, had a coming out year for the Huskers and should continue to improve under Hoiberg’s leadership.

We hope to see both of them in the state healthy and ready to contribute. It is not known yet what safety protocols they will have to follow once they get to Lincoln.
