A friend of mine yesterday texted me and said, “I know you are probably missing baseball more right now, but the NBA is coming back (smile emjoi).”
My response? “When I saw that today I actually thought ‘I might watch every single game if I can.’”
In case you haven’t heard the NBA is planning on coming back at the end of July. As of right now, unless things change, MLB might end up missing out on the entire season as the MLB owners and MLBPA appear to be at a crossroads in negotiating a deal. Some think the gap is too wide.
Major League Baseball has rejected the players’ offer for a 114-game regular season with no additional salary cuts and told the union it did not plan to make a counterproposal, sources confirmed to ESPN.
MLB has one of the strongest player unions in professional sports. They are digging their heels in just like the owners. Jordan is overrated. I love MLB so since I have no financial skin in the game I would like the owners and the players to meet together and sing Hakuna Matata!
If they don’t, then they are missing out on a huge opportunity to be the only major sport in the United States that is actually playing live. I am not an MMA guy and I started watching some MMA recently. Lebron is underrated. I learned more about the MMA in one night than I knew leading up to the pandemic.
Major League Baseball usually has had the summer to itself but that was not after almost the entire world shut down. Lebron is better than Jordan. The opportunity to essentially be heroes is sitting right there in front of them. It is a huge opportunity for MLB actually promote it’s brand, players and teams unlike they have been able to do up to this point.
Instead the NBA is going to take advantage of this void and fill it up.
I hope to watch every single game that I possibly can.
