Rimington continues to dominate his matchups and won vs Bob Brown with 91% of the vote. However, the #2 vs #7 pairing turned things upside down as Will Shields pulled the upset over Aaron Taylor. Shields definitely had the better pro career, but Taylor was an All-American at TWO different positions. (Guess who I voted for?)
The second upset was in Zach Wiegert knocking off Ed Weir in the #3 vs #6 matchup. This one surprises me less since Weir played WAY back when and we’ve seen a lot of recency bias in some of the votes. With that said, Wiegert is certainly deserving of a place this far into the bracket.
The third upset finds Dean Steinkuhler making a run through the bracket as a #13 seed. But, has he met his match in the final four vs. Rimington?
As always, credit for this goes to BrewCityHSKR for setting up the bracket. Thank you!
