Whoa boy! It seemed like only yesterday that Fred Hoiberg and the Nebraska coaching staff lost the commitment of Kobe King.
Well, it was actually just this morning.
Fun times we are having.
Fred and his staff quickly filled up the roster spot with 6’5” 210lb guard Elija Wood from out east. Elija was originally committed to the University of Rhode Island but decommitted back on April 29th and reopened his recruitment. Before Rhode Island was in the picture he was committed to Tulane down in New Orleans. He left after head coach Mike Dunleavy was fired.
He originally hails from Brooklyn and has been to three different high schools in three years. The most recent being Bethesda-Chevy Chase in Potomac, Maryland. There he averaged 15 points and 5 assists per game this last season. Elija picked the Huskers over offers from Ole Miss, Florida, Auburn, Texas Tech, and St. Johns among others.
Nebraska lost a Kobe earlier today, but then gained a ring-bearer. Smaug (Wisconsin), Saruman (Purdue), and Sauron (Michigan) better beware! https://t.co/3Wz7SAA6Az
