The first round was fun. It included some really familiar names and some historical Huskers. There were quite a few native Nebraskans who took advantage of the Husker Power advantage to become professional players - some Hall of Famers.
The #1 seed Dave Rimington rolled with 99% of the vote. The big upset in the top four was that Rik Bonness was defeated by Dean Steinkuhler who took in 87% of the vote. It is hard to argue either way - both were beastly in the trenches, but Steinkuhler is a more familiar name to most Husker fans.
The closest vote in the first round (most of us expected this one) was between #6 Zach Wiegert and #11 Tom Novak. Wiegert took 70% of the vote (more than I expected, to be honest).
As always, credit for this goes to BrewCityHSKR for setting up the bracket. Thank you!
