Nebraska added the commitment of 3* Georgia WR Shawn Hardy II Friday evening. The 6'3 190 lb receiver plays at Camden County HS in Kingsland, Georgia. I actually have family in Kingsland. It is right across the river from Florida & the Jacksonville area, it is the first exit on Interstate 95 once you cross the border. Southeast Georgia is mostly lightly populated swampland but it is rife with smashmouth high school football & explosive athletes. He is from the same area as Dedrick Mills, in fact his school plays Dedrick's alma mater Ware County High every year. He is playing the best of the best in the region, possibly the state & perhaps even the country.
At 6'3 190 with a reported 4.49 40, he checks off all the boxes Nebraska has been yearning for at the receiver position. He reminds me a lot of Minnesota WR Rashod Bateman on film, he possesses a wiry frame but is explosive out of his breaks & extremely polished at the finer points of the position. He chose Nebraska amidst offers from Arkansas, Auburn, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, LSU, Ohio State, Purdue, South Carolina, Tennessee & West Virginia. Rivals has him as a 5.6 3 star, the 89th best receiver in the country & the 61st best player in Georgia while 247 has him rated a .8622 3 star, the 106th best receiver in thr country & the 55th best player in Georgia.
Welcome to Nebraska, Shawn! GBR!
