Nebraska picks up a commitment from Patrick Payton, a 6'5 205 lb OLB/DE from Miami, Florida. He attended Miami High his first 3 seasons but transferred to national powerhouse Miami Northwestern in January.
Having seen him in person, he is a BEAST. I'm not gonna flat out compare him to Randy Gregory because that'll get you guys a tad bit too excited, but he has that potential once he hits a college strength program.
Rated a high 3 star by both Rivals & 247, Payton burst onto the scene in 2019 after accumulating 17.5 sacks last season, including a 5 sack performance at crosstown rival & local powerhouse Columbus High and was named to the 8A-5A All-Dade first team by the Miami Herald.
He held offers from Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Kansas, Miami, Mississippi State, Penn State, Pitt and UCF.
