The fabulous sophomore (rising junior) class that was expected to be the core of the Nebraska women’s basketball team next year is down to one after three of the four players in that class have transferred elsewhere.

The Huskers leading scorer in 2019-20 has announced she is transferring to Michigan. Previously, Ashtyn Verbeek and Kayla Mershon had announced their transfers. Sam Haiby is now the only member of that recruiting class left on the roster.

This is a big blow to the women’s team. Verbeek was a starter this past season and Brown was a starter in the second half of 2018-19 (her freshman year) probably should have been this year too. She was named the Big Ten’s Sixth Player of the Year.
