Former Boys Town and more recent Western Nebraska Community College star Teddy Allen comes to Lincoln via a long country road detour. The Teddy 6’5”, 200 lb. guard graduated from Boys Town in 2017 where he was the Nebraska Gatorade Player of the Year.
He played his freshman year with the West Virginia Mountaineers. After appearing in 35 games, and averaging 7 points per game, he transferred to the Wichita State Shockers. There he sat out due to NCAA transfer rules for the 2018-19 season. His days there were cut short as he was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence, criminal damage, and theft on June 13, 2019.
Wichita State coach Gregg Marshall dismissed him from the team after the incident and Allen found himself in Scottsbluff, Nebraska at Western Nebraska Community College.
At WNCC he started in 27 of 28 games. Allen averaged 31.4 points per game, 3.7 assists per game, and 7.4 rebounds per game for the Cougars. This while shooting 51.4% from the floor and 37.1% from beyond the arch. Allen finished first in the country in both scoring for the season and in points per game at the junior college level, while finishing 16th in the country in points per minute.
Teddy Allen will have two years of eligibility remaining when he arrives in Lincoln.
