Huskers begin homestand against Columbia

It is time for baseball in Nebraska. The Nebraska baseball team (2-7, 0-0 Big Ten) hosts the Columbia Lions to open up a six game homestand. Nebraska hosts Columbia for four games this weekend and then welcomes Northern Colorado for a pair of midweek games next week.

Nebraska will get to face Billy Black while Kyle Perry takes the mound for the Huskers. Black threw well last week against Fresno State. He gave up five runs on five hits with four walks and three strikeouts. Black took the loss for the Lions in a 7-5 game.

Kyle Perry gets the start for the Huskers. He started a handful of games last season, but has worked out of the bullpen early this year. Perry pitched well in the early parts of last season and will look to do the same against a Lions club that did not hit well last weekend.

It’s a beautiful day for baseball
