NCAA Basketball: Northwestern at Nebraska Bruce Thorson-USA TODAY Sports

Oooooof, overtime loss to Northwestern.

This is the gut punch at the end of the season that I didn’t think we would get. It has been a long and treacherous road for the squad this year. I did not think they would lose both games to Northwestern though.

Two more games for the Big Red before the conference tournament. Michigan and Minnesota and both on the road this week. As of now, I say we don’t really have a chance but this team might just put up enough of a fight to make it out with just one more win on the season.

If not, there is always next year and next year can not be as bad as this one. Everyone but two players should be returning to the team. Also, there are some very talented guys who have been red shirting that will be eligible to play.

Hoiberg has had this team playing better than they should of at times. Hopefully he can have them finishing games next year. If not, it could be another rough one.

I have hope.
