Dachon Burke Jr released a statement early this morning indicating that he will no longer be playing Nebraska basketball. He thanked Nebraska, University of Nebraska president Walter Carter Jr, Bill Moos, and head coach Fred Hoiberg. He also thanked the rest of his teammates.
His statement indicates that he was suspended last Friday night before the Minnesota game for missing curfew. So much for the rampant speculation/rumors of other horrible things he might have done that also fall under the wide, but mysterious “violation of team rules” umbrella.
This means he will not be playing in Nebraska’s upcoming Big Ten tournament game against Indiana.
Does that mean he’s gone for good?
You could take it that way. That’s how I take it.
Burke is a junior. He has eligibility left. He could transfer. Maybe there’s a door open for him to come back.
Who knows?
