Preview:

Well folks, I’m not sure what to tell you. This is a match up against the very bottom of the Big Ten. Coming from the banks of Lake Michigan are your mighty Northwestern Wildcats who are 6-21. Yes, they have only won six games this year. However, their lone Big Ten win was against our beloved Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Tons of feelings going into this game.

Not sure how much you all want to know going into this battle. If Nebraska wants any good feeling going into the post season, they need to win this game. They really can’t lose to Northwestern twice in one season. I mean, they can and they have shown the potential to do so, but no one wants to see that.

Miller Kopp leading this power purple squad. The 6’7” forward is averaging 13 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.3 assists. Yes, I said 6’7” forward. Miller cranked out 15 points against the Big Red back in January and should be their main threat once again. He is a sophomore and believe it or not but he is still undeclared.

Senior Guard Pat Spencer is averaging 10.6 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game. He is a grad student who’s claim to fame was his undergraduate years playing lacrosse at Loyola-Maryland. There he was a four time All American and was the Patriot League Offensive Player of the year four times. For some reason this all translates to being a good Nortwestern basketball player. I don’t make the rules here but there really isn’t much to write about here.

Prediction:

This is the last game of the season in Pinnacle Bank Arena.

I say Nebraska:

  • Comes out a little hot
  • Let’s Northwestern think they are in the game
  • Get in a little bit of a hole
  • Pull themselves out of the hole
  • Make Northwestern think they’re in it again
  • Get hot behind the three point line and regain the lead
  • Have Northwestern come within two or three with a couple of minutes left
  • Win
