This Sunday my family and I attended an Oscar party at my aunt’s house. It was so much fun!
If you have never been to one, the concept is pretty simple; you fill out a ballot on who you think will win each category and you watch the Oscar’s and keep track of which ones you got right. Oh and there is food, delicious food, because food is always necessary.
During commercial breaks we voted for things like best dressed, most likely to be rich and famous, and most likely to do weird things in public. We also had BINGO sheets for things to look for during the show and prizes for the winners.
The most exciting part for me was that we put money in for our Oscar ballots and I won!
The movie Parasite won for Best Picture and it’s director Bong Joon Ho won for Best Director. I’ve not seen this movie, but I’ve heard good things and am excited to see it.
Renee Zellweger won Best Actress for her role in Judy and Joaquin Phoenix won Best Actor for Joker.
The only movies up for Oscars that I saw were Once Upon A Time in Hollywood, which was good but also weird. Fitting for a Tarantino film, A Marriage Story, and The Irishman. Well, and Toy Story 4.
Did you watch? What did you think?
Harry Potter Flakes Fun Fact: The Harry Potter movies never won an Oscar, but they were nominated 12 times over the course of the 8 movies.
