It’s time for a quick check-in on former Nebraska Cornhuskers in the pros. As a reminder of who is out there, here’s a handy Google Sheet to remind you:
Huskers in the NBA
Isaiah Roby became the eleventh Cornhusker to make it onto the court in the NBA this past week as he took the floor for the Oklahoma City Thunder. Roby was drafted in the second round last summer by the Dallas Mavericks and was playing for their G-league team the Texas Legends. Roby played in nine games for the Legends, averaging 9.2 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game. He had missed nearly two months of action with a foot injury before returning to action recently. On January 24th Roby was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder. He made his debut Wednesday evening in a 120-100 win over the Sacramento Kings. The 6-foot-8 forward missed his only shot from the floor in a two-minute stint.

Roby is one of four Cornhuskers from last year’s roster playing professionally this season. James Palmer Jr. is playing for the Agua Caliente Clippers and is averaging 19.8 points per game on 49 percent shooting as a rookie. Isaac Copeland Jr. has returned to action following knee surgery one year ago and has played in seven games for the Texas Legends, averaging 2.3 points and 1.7 rebounds per game. Glynn Watson Jr. is playing for Lavrio in Greece and averaging 8.4 points and 1.7 assists per game while shooting 43 3ercent from 3-point range.
Elsewhere, Shavon Shields led Baskonia to an 83-79 win in their last game. Shields, who is averaging 9.6 points per game and 3.5 rebounds per ggame in the top league in Spain, was the game’s MVP against Khimki in the team’s last Euroleague game, finishing with 22 points and six rebounds.
Terran Petteway continued his strong season for Pistoia in the Italian Serie A, finishing with 24 points against Treviso. Petteway is averaging 15.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.6 steals per game this season. Caleb Walker is having a great season playing for FOS Provence in France. He had 27 points and three steals in his last game, and he is currently averaging 19.7 points per game in his first season with the team.
