Sports Illustrated announced their SI99 Basketball Prospect rankings on Wednesday. Giving us their top 99 players in the 2021 recruiting class. For the first time since I can think of, two of Nebraska’s recruits landed in the top 40.
Coming in at #40 is center Wilhelm Briedenbach out of Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California. He committed to Nebraska on November 11th of this year. The 6’9” center is a four star prospect who is currently ranked by ESPN as the #53 best recruit in the country for 2021 and 247 has him ranked at #92. During his junior year in high school he averaged 11.9 points and 7 rebounds per game.
Ahead of Wilhelm is #29 Bryce McGowan. Nebraska picked up the commitment of Bryce just two days after getting Wilhelm on November 11th. The 6’6” guard is 5 star recruit that hails from Greenville, South Carolina. He is the #1 recruit out of South Carolina, #3 shooting guard in the country, and #26th player overall according to 247. Bryce averaged 25.3 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game for the Hurricanes his junior year.
