It was not a pretty game from the start for Nebraska as they fall to Top 25 ranked Ohio State in Columbus on Wednesday night. The Huskers kept it close early on but could not break poor shooting, decision making, and defense in the 36 point loss to the Buckeyes.
The Huskers were lead by one player in double digits and that was Teddy Allen. The former Boystown start had 13 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists on the night. A tough night only shooting 3 of 9 from the field for the Husker star.
Forward Lat Mayen ended the night with 7 points and only 2 rebounds against the physical Buckeyes. Dalano Banton, the 6’9” guard, picked up a lot of what was left in the paint and ended the night with 6 points and a team high 8 rebounds.
The reserves did not give the Huskers much relief in this game. Shamiel Stevenson came of the bench to add just 6 points and 1 blocked shot.
In the end the Huskers only shot 28% on the night and a very poor 15% from beyond the arch. Only 17 shots were made out of 60 attempts for the Big Red. You really can’t beat, well anyone with those stats.
Nebraska returns to Lincoln on Saturday to take on Michigan State.
