NCAA Football: Nebraska at Rutgers Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports

Coming into the game Rutgers had a streak of 14 home game losses.

Rutgers 3 - 0

Nebraska’s first offensive series resulted in a turnover as Adrian Martinez had picked up a first down on third and nine, but was upended and the ball came out before he landed on his head.

Art Sitkowski hit Bo Melton for 50 yards to the Nebraska 23. Sitkowski hit Shameen Jones for a positive gaine, but the Scarlet Knights could go no further.

Isaih Pacheco hit a 36 yard field goal to score first.

Scoring Drive: 5 plays, 55 yards, 1:44

Rutgers 6 - 0

Rutgers started their drive on the Nebraska 47 after our beloved Huskers were pinned deep in their own end zone, committing consecutive penalties while not making first downs.

Sitkowski completed a 17-yard pass to Jones on the drive. Rutgers ran some other plays. Pheldarious Payne sacked Sitkowski for a loss of six, then Rutgers gained six as Sitkowski hit Aaron Young. Then the Scarlet Knights kicked a field goal.

The crowd of four cheered wildly.

Valentino Ambrosio kicked a somewhat long field goal. Then he went to the sideline, made a phone call and had some guys whacked. What an alibi.

Nebraska 7 - 6

Nebraska started at the 25 after a touchback. Martinez completed a pass OVER 10 YARDS DOWN FIELD for 15 yards to Levi Falck. Martinez then hit Jack Stoll for 11 yards, another play of OVER 10 YARDS DOWN FIELD.

Dedrick Mills ran right up the middle for 43 yards to the Rutgers two yard line. It was the longest running play in the history of Nebraska football tonight. Mills did not get into the end zone, and it looked tenuous for our beloved Huskers as Rutgers kept our offense from the end zone until a fourth down play on which Martinez ran an option and pitched the ball to Wan’Dale Robinson, who scored his first touchdown of the season.

No targeting called on Rutgers but their damned well could have been.

Nebraska was called for holding on the PAT, backed up, and Culp hit it again. Good job Connor Culp, Big Ten kicker of the year!

PAT: Culp, Connor kick attempt good.

Scoring Drive: 9 plays, 75 yards, 3:13

Rutgers 14 - 7

Rutgers started on their own 20 after Adrian Martinez’ pass was intercepted in the end zone on what was a promising drive. It was Martinez’ third turnover of the game.

Rutgers started with a nice play, a 21 yard pass from Sitkowski to Bo Melton. He hit Melton again for 12. Nebraska held Rutgers to a 4th and 1, then Isaih Pacheco hit the middle and made it past all our beloved Husker defenders to score a 33-yard touchdown.

Rutgers went for a two point conversion. Sitkowski hit Melton. good.

Scoring Drive: 7 plays, 80 yards, 2:12
