Kingsland, GA receiver Shawn Hardy II has officially signed his letter of intent and is now a Husker. The 6'3 190 Hardy plays his prep ball for Camden County High. Southeast Georgia is mostly lightly populated swampland but it is rife with smashmouth high school football & explosive athletes. He is from the same area as Dedrick Mills, in fact his school plays Dedrick’s alma mater Ware County High every year. He is playing the best of the best in the region, possibly the state & perhaps even the country.
At 6’3 190 with a reported 4.45 40, he checks off all the boxes Nebraska has been yearning for at the receiver position. He reminds me a lot of Minnesota WR Rashod Bateman on film, he possesses a wiry frame but is explosive out of his breaks & is a major deep threat. He chose Nebraska amidst offers from Arkansas, Auburn, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, LSU, Ohio State, Purdue, South Carolina, Tennessee & West Virginia.
Akelo's Analysis:
Shawn is the most underrated member of the 2021 recruiting class in my opinion. He has prototypical size & is a dangerous deep threat. I'm not sure if he will see playing time as a true freshman, but I can foresee him having plenty of 100 yard games in Memorial Stadium one day.
