Nebraska Football: Friday Gametime Changed to Prime Time

NCAA Football: Rutgers at Maryland Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY Sports

While we were all excited to miss the Nebraska football game because most people are working at 3 p.m. on a Friday or are drinking their sorrows away in a bar (well maybe not this year) it appears that most of us will actually be able to watch the game.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Nebraska gets it’s first night game of the season!

Now the question will be how will Nebraska break our hearts this week?

Any ideas?

Here is my idea.

There is 1:25 left in the fourth quarter and Nebraska is leading Rutgers by 1. Nebraska has possession of the ball at the Nebraska 13 yard line. It is first and ten and Rutgers is out of timeouts. They can’t stop the clock. The win is in the bag.

After a couple of kneels it is third and 13. Then it happened.

(Running back name redacted) turned to Adrian Martinez and asked him a question.

(Running back name redacted): What do you call a sad brownie?

Martinez: Wait, What?

(Running back name redacted): A frownie.

The joke was perfect. The timing was not. Martinez laughed and clapped his hands, which caused Cam Jurgens to snap the ball when Martinez was not ready and it flew by his head toward the end zone.

Wan’Dale Robinson was so distracted by (running back name redacted) telling a joke that he missed the snap flying by his feet as he was in this position just in case something like this would happen.

(Running back name redacted) realized he made a mistake and wanted to make sure he made things right so he sprinted after the ball. He wanted to make sure Rutgers didn’t fall on the ball. So he did what he thought was right.

He kicked the ball out of the end zone.
