The Big Ten Network will air a special program tonight on Jack and Any Hoffman and their personal battles with brain cancer.
As many of you probably know, Jack was diagnosed with brain cancer back in 2011 when he was 5 years old and has gone through treatment for it on and off ever since.
Over the years, Jack had become friends with the Nebraska football team. In 2013 that relationship lead to Jack being invited onto the field in Memorial Stadium to have a 69 yard touchdown run during the spring game that caught the hearts of fans across the country.
The Hoffman Family has since started the Team Jack Foundation which raises money for pediatric brain cancer research. Jack is currently a freshman in high school and played football for the West Holt Huskies. Something he probably could only dream of back in 2011.
Jack’s father Andy, helped start the foundation and has raised over $8 million since it’s founding. A large amount of money that has gone to make sure that children with brain cancer have the care and treatment they need.
This past summer, Andy found out the he too has been diagnosed with brain cancer. He is currently undergoing treatment for it and they hope for a strong recovery.
The Hoffman family has been through a lot over the years and their connection to Husker football runs deep. The Big Ten Network has been gracious enough to tell their story to hopefully inspire others with their own personal battles with cancer.
Andy & Jack will air tonight at 8:30pm CST on BTN.
