It’s finally time.
(Insert Tunnel Walk music)
It’s game day for Nebraska and the Huskers are going to go into Columbus and come up with a win.
Sure, Ohio State is the reigning Big Ten Champs and a 26 point favorite, but it’s 2020 and those things don’t matter this year.
#1 2020 IS UNPREDICTABLE
We are all aware that 2020 has been a crazy year for the whole world. There is nothing that can’t happen this year. I mean, this is the first Husker football game and it’s the end of October.
We can narrow it down even more and look at the college football that has been played this year. There have been many upsets that people did not see coming. Look at Oklahoma, look at LSU.
In the first Big Ten game of 2020, it only makes sense that Nebraska would pull the upset on Ohio State.
#2 OHIO STATE WILL HAVE SOME FIRST GAME KINKS TO WORK OUT
If anytime is a good time to take on the Buckeyes, it’s the first game. They aren’t going to have all of their ducks in a row.
The other bonus to this is that they have no tape of our current team. Yes, they can look at last year, but this is a different team.
Ohio State will be less prepared for the Huskers.
#3 THE COACHES AND PLAYERS PUSHED SO HARD FOR A SEASON
The Huskers pushed hard to be able to play at all this fall.
There is a reason for that. We’re going to see it on Saturday. The knowledge that this is a season that may not have happened and that none of their games are guaranteed will be the mental motivation that this team needs.
#4 OUR OFFENSIVE LINE WILL BE MUCH IMPROVED FROM LAST YEAR
Last year the Husker offensive line was pushed around by the Buckeyes.
Most of the year was a struggle for this unit. They are coming back with more experience in their positions and more experience working together. This is a winning combination.
On Saturday we will see that the Nebraska offensive line is much better than a year ago.
#5 KADE WARNER’S MUSTACHE
Every team needs a good luck charm. What’s better than this:
How can the Huskers lose when they’ve got a mustache like that on their side?
Victory is with The Stache.
By Saturday night Nebraska will be 1-0.
