Akelo's Analysis: What's not to love about James Carnie? He's from small town Nebraska, grew up a die hard Husker fan, his family has had season tickets since Eisenhower was president, and most importantly, he is a GREAT FOOTBALL PLAYER!

When you look at his measurables & testing numbers, he is almost identical to fellow commit Thomas Fidone. When you look at his film he is much more of a traditional tight end than Thomas, who is almost exclusively flexed out wide as a slot receiver.

Carnie's film features him in-line blocking, going up and using his big frame to bring down 50-50 jump balls, using his razor sharp route running skills to make big plays, and using those big catcher's mitt-like hands to make contested catches in the red zone. James is WILDLY underrated in my eyes. I'm assuming it is because he is playing small town Nebraska football, but he is GOOD.

This recruitment falls mostly on the shoulders of Coach Beckton. He recruited James hard even when he didn't have a Nebraska offer, building a great relationship with James & his family. Getting the offer was just the cherry on top.

James's commitment brings the Huskers' 2021 recruiting class to the 21st bwst in the country & 4th in the Big Ten according to 247, and 16th in the country according to Rivals. We are now winding down to the end of the 2021 recruiting class, the Huskers class is getting full. We still need some defensive linemen & maybe another linebacker or 2, but for the most part we are done!

Welcome to Nebraska, James! GBR!
