Report: Former Nebraska Quarterback Mickey Joseph Turns Down Job Offer to Coach at Nebraska

This could have one heck of a trickle effect.

NCAA Football: Miami at Louisiana State Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

Reported first by Brody Miller, who is the LSU beat reporter for The Athletic.

Mickey Joseph played Quarterback at Nebraska from 1988 - 1991. In 1990, as a starter he lead Nebraska to a 9-2 record. That was then.

This is now.

Now he is the wide receivers coach for the National Champion LSU Tigers.

The report was seconded by Sam McKewon of the Omaha World Herald.

The elephant in the room however, is that there are currently no job openings on the staff. Also there is already somebody (Troy Walters) who is the current wide receivers coach at Nebraska as well as the “offensive coordinator.”

It would be quite the story if Troy Walters ends up coming back to Nebraska. At this point, I expect that he is not expecting to be on the staff and may already have another job lined up.

One thing is clear. Scott Frost is not resting on his laurels.

Sit tight my friends.

WHAT! WHAT?

All these semantics, perhaps. Never offered a job to Joseph. Maybe it was offered to his agent. Maybe it was never offered. Maybe Troy Walters isn’t going anywhere. Maybe something entirely different will happen.

Wooooo!
