Huskers in the NFL: Week Two Recap

We’ve just begun!

Philadelphia Eagles v Atlanta Falcons Photo by Carmen Mandato/Getty Images

There wasn’t a ton of action for former Huskers this week, but there were some notable plays. Specifically, as you saw in the picture, Nathan Gerry recorded an interception. More on that when I get to the Eagles.

Quick side-note. If you weren’t at the game on Saturday, the HuskerVision team included Isaiah Roby in the Pro Big Red bit. It was weird to see an NBA player up there for once.

Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings lost a close game to the Packers 21-16.

Ameer Abdullah RB: One carry for two yards. Abdullah also had a really nice tackle on a punt.

Chicago Bears

The Bears won on a last second field goal to the Broncos 16-14.

Prince Amukamara CB: Seven total tackles, five were solo and two were assisted.

New England Patriots

The Patriots played a high school team (the Miami Dolphins) and won 43-0.

Rex Burkhead RB: Five carries for 21 yards. Burkhead also had two receptions for 47 yards, and his long was 32.

Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals got smoked by the 49ers 41-17. Zac Taylor starts his career as the Bengals head coach 0-2.

Cethan Carter TE: No stats recorded.

Stanley Morgan Jr. WR: Practice Squad

Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys beat NFC East rival the Redskins 31-21.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Bucs beat the Panthers 20-14 in a game that went down to the wire.

Lavonte David LB: Seven total tackles. Two were solo and five were assisted.

Ndamukong Suh DT: Suh had one fumble recovery that, at first, looked like it was caused by David. Maybe one day Husker fans!

New York Jets

The Jets lost to the Browns 23-3 after the Jets were down to their third string quarterback.

Quincy Enunwa WR: Sadly, Enunwa was placed on injured reserve for the season due to another neck injury.

Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles lost to the Falcons 24-20.

Nathan Gerry LB: Two solo tackles. Gerry also had an interception that he baited Matt Ryan into. It was a goal line interception that almost cost the Eagles because Gerry tried taking the ball out. Luckily he was tackled centimeters away from being at the one-inch line.

Oakland Raiders

The Raiders lost to the Chiefs 28-10. This gave the Chiefs a winning record inside that stadium forever because the Raiders are moving to Vegas.

Richie Incognito: Suspended.

Denver Broncos

HAHAHAHAHAHA The Broncos fell to 0-2 this weekend.

Andy Janovich FB: Injured.

Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals came close to beating the Ravens, but failed and lost 23-17.
