Five Reasons Nebraska Will Lose: South Alabama

Ready for an 0-12 season?

NCAA Football: South Alabama at Nebraska Bruce Thorson-USA TODAY Sports

I have the job nobody wants, but it’s a job that needs to be done. Every single week I’ll be right here kicking everybody while they’re down. Explaining why EVERYBODY drank too much Kool-Aid this offseason. There’s no reason to believe Nebraska will be better than 4-8. In fact, I believe the Huskers will end with a goose egg in the win column come December.

Hank Bounds is a Traitor

Did you know Hank Bounds left the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to become a professor of some kind at the University of South Alabama? Well, that’s what he says anyway. Every single bone in my body knows he stole Nebraska’s playbook and is distributing it to the opponents.

South Alabama promised Bounds the full check they’re going to receive from coming to Lincoln to beat Nebraska.

They’ll be the third non-power five school to come to Lincoln and win in the last three seasons, and Northern Illinois University will make it four.

They Want Revenge

All Husker fans tried to melt the 2015 season from their minds, but South Alabama didn’t. The Jaguars remember the beating Nebraska, coached by Mike Riley, gave them back then.

Freshman on the team back then are either juniors or seniors, and they will want revenge. Honestly, they’re probably more mad about letting Mike Riley beat them than losing in the fashion they did.

Looking Ahead

If the Jaguars come into Lincoln looking for revenge it’s going to be a long night for Husker fans. Nebraska is going to completely blow South Alabama off because I bet they’re already preparing for Colorado. Frost is probably still fuming over the way his homecoming got spoiled last year, he’s not even preparing for Saturday against the Jaguars.

Stop kidding yourself.

Frost wants the same thing South Alabama wants, revenge, and that’s going to come back and haunt Nebraska when the clock strikes 0:00 around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.

No Black?

From what we can gather, there’s no way Nebraska comes out in black on Saturday. Why? The coaches must not believe in the defense.

Who cares if they handed out some blackshirts to the defense this week? That’s just for show, obviously if they believed the defense could do enough to win this game the players would be back in black come this weekend.

The Weather

Nebraska lost the first game of the season in 2018 because they weren’t able to play it. Husker fans argued that if they had just played against Akron the season would’ve went different.

Well they didn’t play against Akron, and they’re not going to play against South Alabama. Storms on Friday and rain on Saturday is going to cancel the first game of the season again. You can’t win if you don’t play, and what’s the old saying?

If you didn’t win then you lost. When this game gets cancelled Nebraska automatically loses.
