Coach: Travis Fisher
Coach Fisher also coaches the cornerbacks as he is the secondary coach. He is known for getting the most out of kids and some have criticized him for recruiting kids that remind him of himself. Saying that he wants under-the-radar kids who he can turn into great players.
Well whatever works coach!
This is Coach Fisher’s second year at Nebraska and his fourth as a member of Scott Frost’s coaching staff.

Expected Contributors for 2019
Well it makes my job easier when the depth chart is has been released.
According to the depth chart these are the following three deep at safety.
Marquel Dismuke, Isaiah Stalbird, Eli Sullivan
Deontai Williams, Eric Reid Jr., Reid Karel
Deontai Williams could be an all-conference performer in his junior year. They said he probably could have started last year but they wanted him to have to earn it and Coach Fisher felt it was better for the safety room for him to get his starting job that way.
He brings the hurt and I hope he doesn’t get ejected from any games because he tackles too hard. Coach Frost has even had to ask Williams to tone down the physicality during practice.
Marquel Dismuke, the lone remainder from Calabasas High School if I remember that correctly. He is slotted as the starter and from what we have heard he has earned that spot and could be a bright spot for this defensive secondary.
Eric Reid Jr., the lone senior on the depth chart, hopes to finish out his career on a high note. I hope it won’t be because of injuries.
Isaiah Stalbird right now is a back-up safety and is a redshirt freshman from Omaha. He could become a fan favorite really quick.
Hopeful Contributors for 2019
The two I expected to see on the three deep who aren’t would be Noa Pola-Gates and Myles Farmer. If we can hold them out and redshirt them then that would be ideal. So here is hoping that the walk-ons are ballers.
Outlook for 2019
The depth of this group is stark to say the least.
I love both Deontai and Dismuke. Stalbird could become a revelation for Nebraska fans. We shall see.
Sigh.
